Devon Sandoval

RSL coaches really liked what they saw out of Sandoval when he trained with the Claret-and-Cobalt for a week last summer, going as far as to trade up two spots in January’s MLS SuperDraft to nab the University of New Mexico product with the team’s second round pick (29^th overall). Sandoval has repaid the club’s faith this preseason, playing well enough to earn himself a full contract with the team.

The Albuquerque native brings a different element to Real Salt Lake’s five-man forward corps, playing the pure hold-up role that was missing at times in years past. Expect him to get some MLS time during his rookie season when Real Salt Lake Head Coach Jason Kreis wants to run a true bruiser at opposing defenses.
