It’s not often that a first-round draft pick plays 15 league games in his rookie year and then gets traded in his first offseason, but that’s exactly what happened to defender Aaron Maund, who started nine MLS matches for Toronto last year before being traded to RSL for Justin Braun on Dec. 3.
Maund was a casualty of a season – and offseason – full of change in Toronto, getting shipped off shortly before his second head coach at TFC lost his job. He’ll undoubtedly have much more stability at Real Salt Lake, where he’ll learn from Head Coach Jason Kreis and Assistant/Defensive Specialist C.J. Brown as he competes for time at center back.
