Saborio wins Goal of the Week

Costa Rican striker honored for third goal in RSL's loss at NY

SANDY, Utah - Real Salt Lake forward Alvaro Saborio has won MLS Goal of the Week!

Saborio won the honor for his fantastic, hat trick completing goal in the 82nd minute of last Saturday's 4-3 loss at the New York Red Bulls. Saborio collected a Joao Plata pass at the top of the box, dribbling to his left before chipping a right-footed shot past a pair of New York defenders and inside the far post to give RSL a short-lived lead. The Costa Rican international beat out New York's Dax McCarty, Montreal's Blake Smith, Toronto's Andrew Wiedeman and Philadelphia's Antoine Hoppenot to take home the weekly honor. RSL has now won MLS Goal of the Week six times this season.

Saborio and the rest of Real Salt Lake will return to action on Saturday, when they'll take on the Colorado Rapids in the 2013 Rocky Mountain Cup Presented by Mark Miller Subaru finale at 6:30 p.m. MT on ABC 4 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park outside of Denver.
