Morales wins Goal of the Week

RSL's maestro honored for nutmegged goal in 3-0 win at FCD

SANDY, Utah - Real Salt Lake clinched its fifth Goal of the Week award this year and second in three weeks with midfielder Javier Morales’ game-winner in last Saturday’s 3-0 win against FC Dallas.

The Argentine playmaker earned his second Goal of the Week honor when he exhibited his class with the ultimate skill-check, intentionally shooting through FCD defender Zach Loyd’s legs and into the back of the net to give the Claret-and-Cobalt a 1-0 lead. The nutmeg goal was Morales’ fifth in MLS. He beat out Houston’s Adam Moffat, Vancouver’s Camilo Sanvezzo, Kansas City’s Claudio Bieler and New York’s Eric Alexander.

Real Salt Lake will return to action this Saturday, July 20, when it will take on Eastern Conference power Sporting Kansas City at Rio Tinto Stadium.
