Rimando wins Save of the Week

Claret-and-Cobalt goalkeeper honored for stop on LA's Villarreal

SANDY, Utah - That's three out of four for RSL goalkeeper Nick Rimando. 

Rimando won Save of the Week for Week 15 for his diving stop on LA forward Jose Villarreal's first half free kick in the first half of the Claret-and-Cobalt's 3-1 win over the Galaxy on June 8. 

Rimando beat out Portland's Milos Kocic, Seattle's Michael Gspurning, Chicago's Sean Johnson and DC's Bill Hamid to take home the award. The vetern 'keeper has won Save of the Week four times this year; RSL has won the award five times, with defender Nat Borchers taking home the honor earlier this season. 

Rimando is currently with the the U.S. national team ahead of Tuesday's World Cup Qualifier at Rio Tinto Stadium against Honduras. He'll be back with RSL for the team's June 22 home match against Seattle Sounders FC.
