Rimando wins Save of the Week
Real Salt Lake just keeps raking in the awards.
About an hour after Claret-and-Cobalt midfielder Javier Morales won MLS Goal of the Week for a stunning free kick, it was announced that RSL goalie Nick Rimando nabbed MLS Save of the Week for a stunning stop in the team's 2-1 win over Portland last Saturday.
Rimando won the weekly award - his league high sixth of the season - for a fantastic reaction stop on a header from Timbers' midfielder Rodney Wallace in the 21st minute. The save - which saw Rimando block Wallace's strong eight-yard header with an outstretched left arm - easily won the fan vote, topping a stop from Vancouver 'keeper Brad Knighton by over 30 percent.
