Real Salt Lake-Montreal Connections

The Impact roster includes a pair of players familiar to soccer followers in Utah in former RSL midfielder Collen Warner, who made 37 appearances in regular season play the last two season before being plucked by the Impact in last November’s Expansion Draft, and forward Justin Braun, the Skyline High School product who began his professional career with four seasons at Chivas USA from 2008-11.

Real Salt Lake has fared well in its first home contest against expansion competition since entering the MLS ranks back in 2005, compiling a 5-1-1 mark against league newcomers upon their first visit to the Beehive State. The only points dropped by the Claret-and-Cobalt in such contests came in 2007, when Toronto FC rolled into Rice-Eccles Stadium and handed RSL a 1-2 defeat, and last October, when Portland used a goal at the death of the regular season finale to earn a 1-1 at Rio Tinto Stadium.
