RSL’S INTERNATIONAL CONTINGENT READY FOR ACTION

Five Players from Claret-and-Cobalt Set to Suit up in CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers, International Friendlies

SANDY, Utah (Friday, October 7, 2011) – Five members of Real Salt Lake are ready to represent their respective national teams across the next five days during FIFA’s international calendar window.

The group includes two players – MF Jean Alexandre and MF Will Johnson (Canada) – that will look to help continue their respective countries’ march towards advancement during CONCACAF region qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Both Canada (Group D) and Haiti (Group F) won their first two qualifying contests last month to sit atop their respective groups with six points, but with only the winner of each four-team group advancing both sides will need to press for full points to put a stranglehold on their group in advance of the final qualifying matchdays in November. Another three RSL members – MF Kyle Beckerman (USA), GK Nick Rimando (USA) and FW Álvaro Saborío (Costa Rica) – have been called in to participate in international friendlies. Rimando will join the U.S. camp in Miami today after suiting up for Real Salt Lake in last night’s defeat at Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

Following is the list of upcoming international matches including the quintet of Real Salt Lake players.
